How to deal with big changes in your life

Have you had a big life change recently? Has it become so stressful that your well-being and self-esteem have suffered? If so, I’d like to offer some encouragement to you. First of all, you are not alone, with the rapid lifestyle people lead it’s no wonder things are constantly changing. From work, to school, to raising a family, life definitely has a way of changing things in the blink of an eye. Being a military family myself, I know first hand how life can change in a heartbeat. One day we are living a beautiful settled life in Texas and the next we are asked to move to Missouri on orders. Talk about big change and it was all out of my control. The stress surmounted, yet life had to continue, because life doesn’t just stop when stress and anxiety take over. So you may be wondering what I had to do to maintain a healthy balance? Well let me just tell you, it wasn’t/ isn’t easy but equilibrium and happiness are my number 1 priority. So today I share with you a few things I’ve done to manage the stress and anxiety of these big life changes.

1. Communication- whether you are single, in a relationship, or married having open communication makes even the toughest emotions a lot easier to manage for everyone. Sometimes we just need someone to listen and help us turn the whirlwind in our heads to smaller more manageable gusts. So find your someone whether friend or lover and start communicating. If you don’t have that someone, book your appointment with me today and let me help you.

2. Exercise- specifically for me, I’ve found a great yoga studio in my area that offers restorative yoga, which helps calm the mind, body, and spirits. However, I know yoga can become more pricey so here are a few other things I’ve done to manage the stress and anxiety of big life changes. As a pet owner, you know our fur babies love walks, so taking them on walks through the park or playing with them at the dog park always brings a smile to my face. If you need time alone with your thoughts, a nice brisk walk or jog is also helpful. There are so many fun and free exercise options so getting creative is a fun way to help reduce stress.

3. Essential oil- Defusing or rubbing essential oils on your body is a very natural and helpful way to help balance our emotions. If you’d like more information about this practice and the specific oils to use, book your appointment with me today.

I hope you’ve found this blog post helpful and remember you are not alone. You are worth investing your time and energy on self healing.
